Good Job, Little Zoie!

Finally, school is over and done with!  ^_^ Haha… well, I’m happy it’s vacation time, now I have lots of time online and not tire myself with too much stuff to do especially travelling.

I am happy that vacation is starting but I am most happy with my big ate’s school achievements.  I know we are thriving to get high scores in her quizzes and exams but it didn’t sink in to me that we are aiming for academic awards when school ended, or even special awards.

It just hit me when I was talking to Little Zoie’s adviser, Teacher Ghen, about the Moving Up Ceremony as the last month of school started, March.  I was praying that we could, at least, get a special award of some sort.

But it was more than that… We got more than just any special awards last Friday, March 22, Educamp Learning School’s Moving Up Ceremony at B Hotel, Madrigal Business Park, Alabang.  I’ll show her achievements at the end of the post.  ^_^

Though I know that we are a bit late, thanks to the taxi driver, the ceremony haven’t started yet when we arrived at the hotel.  We still have time to freshen up and some little photo opp for Little Zoie and her classmates.

The kiddos are waiting for the program to start.

Just like any other school-end ceremony, they have to march.  Parents are given time to take pictures of their kids on the stage.

The last two weeks of going to school is all about practicing for their Moving Up Ceremony.  And in the program, you can see that every kid did their best with their respective performance.  You can really hear proud parents cheering and intently watching everyone’s presentation.

Kinder 1 and 2 boys have their own performance as well, one of One Direction’s songs, but had a poor shot with them so I’m not posting it here.

After all the prepared song and dance presentations, was the presentation of Graduates, Kinder 2.  Though Kinder 2 children are the ones graduating, all the kids have been required to wear togas and was given certifications just like the Kinder 2s.

Then, the distribution of the awards, awarding ceremony.  Of course, they started with the Toddlers, then I noticed that every kid has their own special award or awards, if not an academic award.  I begin to feel excitement as they started giving out the awards for the Kinder 1.  My excitement became less when almost everyone was already called out, and every possible special awards and academic awards and my Little Zoie is not being called yet.

The suspense is already there when suddenly my Little Zoie’s name was called out for 3 academic awards:  Best in English, Best in Science, and Most Outstanding Student!  I was really surprised… it is all academics and not just any special awards!  ^_^

Another thing, hubby got teary eyed when he was taking a picture of them while singing ‘Glowing Inside’.  He didn’t record all of it but he got to record their singing of the song ‘That’s What Friends Are For’.

Last Week of School

Finally we are on our last week of going to school, and honestly I’m getting quite excited for this Friday’s Moving Up Ceremony (Recognition, for Toddlers and Kinder 1, and Graduation Day, for Kinder 2).

Though I’m already restless because of the very busy month of March, I know I’ll have all the rest I need once Little Zoie will take their vacation.  Sheesh, I just remembered there are lots of family gathering, in my in-laws side, whenever Lenten season comes and that is this March also.  Sigh, I will not be getting the rest I need even before my baby #2 arrives.  :-(

Anyway, Little Zoie and her schoolmates are still busy practicing for the upcoming Moving Up Ceremony, the last activity of the school and their last presentation on the stage.  Of course, as a mom, I’m hoping she’ll receive any special awards at the end of this school year but it’s fine with me if she doesn’t, though I know she did well in school.  ^_^

Let’s just see what happens on Friday… can’t wait!

Back for Practice and Birthday Celebration

We’re back to school again.  ^_^

Remember Little Zoie blogged about not going to school three days ago because I wanted to rest?  Well, I had my rest alright so that’s why this morning I finally decided to send the big ‘Ate’ to school to attend their practice for their Moving Up/ Graduation Ceremony next Friday, March 22.

It was kinda cute when we arrived at school because all her classmates greeted her and seemed excited to see from her 2-day absence.  I know she didn’t missed that much because we also practiced the songs they’ll be singing in the program here at home.

During break time we were advised that there will be a birthday celebration going on tomorrow.  Good thing that they advised it during the break so I can still pick up a gift for the birthday celebrant after I checked out socket head cap screw at hardware store inside the adjacent shopping center.

But before I could get a gift, hubby called and I told him about the birthday party.  He said we don’t need to attend the party since he doesn’t want me to do much traveling if it’s not that important.  Tomorrow will just be the party and no practice.  So, I didn’t continue picking out the gift for the celebrant.  But before hubby left for office this evening, Zoie talked to him about attending the party.  The little girl learned that she’s not going anymore.  With a little persuasion from Little Zoie, the daddy finally let her attend to the party.  Now, we have to be early for school so I still have time to, at least, pick up a gift for the birthday girl tomorrow before the party starts.
