In three months time, me and hubby will be celebrating our 5 years of marriage, it is our 5th year wedding anniversary this coming August. And because of this I can’t helped reminiscing the months I experienced, back then, in preparing my simple wedding. I wanted a simple wedding, a wedding which can be special but still within the limits of our capacity to spend. ;-) Nobody’s paying for it but us.
Our wedding wasn’t planned to happen on August 2007, it was planned on December of 2007, but because of some unseen turn of events we changed our wedding date. Good thing, we didn’t have any big troubles with the early preparations.
I don’t have any experience preparing a wedding.
It was really helpful of one of hubby’s aunt, Tita Ellen, to help us organize: which one’s first. She suggested to us to have a list of everything we needed in the wedding. I have a little notepad with me all the time to list everything that comes to mind, and how much is the estimated costs.

I listed the possible venues and food options, wedding gown and Barong Tagalog, wedding bands, wedding invitations and souvenirs, photo and video coverage, bouquets and flowers, and more. Also, I listed who, among our relatives and friends, we wanted to be included in our wedding entourage.
Among all the wedding preparations we settled, there is one thing I did personally, of course with the help of some friends from work, we made my wedding invitations.
Hubby’s side of the family were suggesting to order wedding invitations from graphic stores which you can see in shopping malls. But we decided to design it ourselves since we have limited budget, and it need not be grand. I wish I still have a soft copy of my wedding invitation so I can share it here.
Remembering all these preparations, for almost 5 years ago, I’m amazed to have found the small little notepad in which I wrote every little detail of my wedding. I didn’t used up all the pages, so I’m surprise to see that I also wrote, at the back of the notepad, a list of what I need in preparing for Little Zoie’s birth! I supposed it is an all-in-one list notepad. ^_^
As for my wedding anniversary, I told hubby that I wanted to be wed again… maybe in 10 years of marriage, but I wanted it different. Renewing vows at the beach during sunset, seems like a romantic idea, do you agree?
I guess, that will be next wedding preparation I will be writing in this blog, eh?
