Your child is your biggest responsibility. His/her brain has the absorbing power of a sponge and hence it can absorb as much as you feed it. Knowing your child’s potential and developing it the just the right way is of utmost importance. Some parenting tips can help you develop your child’s potential.
1. Know your child’s potential
To start working on your child’s development you must know what your child is potential of. In fact your child has amazing potentials, it is just that you have to recognize them and mould them the right way. Every human being is different and so is your child, he might have different abilities and interest. Encouraging his interests will make learning fun for him.
2. Encourage maximum interest
Encouragement is very important for every human being. Your child’s heart is very tender and he/she would love encouragement and appreciations for every good thing he does. Encourage him/her in her interests to develop his potential. For example if your child loves reading buy him/her books, ask him/her if they need any specific book to read. Get him/her a library registration, go along with her/him to the library and help her/him select interesting books and topics to read.
3. Never discourage him
Your child is small, he learning and is suppose to make mistakes. Do not let your child down on anything if his mistakes. Also don’t let your child down in front of people. Constantly letting your child down or discouraging will thrash your child’s confidence. He will lose interest in things he likes and is potential of being good in. In fact even if your child ends up making mistakes encourage him and tell him that he can do better next time. One positive word from you will give him encouragement for working harder.
4. Appreciation
Appreciation is a very important gesture. Since a baby a child looks at his parents to get a look or a word of appreciation. One word of appreciation encourages him to work very hard and prove his potentials. Remember appreciation by parents is very important it can work wonders for your growing child.
5. Make learning interesting for your child
As a baby or a toddler everything is new for your child and hence everything is very interesting. As time passes learning gets boring and monotonous. To encourage learning you must make it interesting. Use colorful books, knowledgeable and analytical toys, colors, pictures, music and songs to make learning interesting.
Every child has great potentials, however it is very important to recognize these potential to develop them. Know your child’s potential his interest and then encourage him to work towards developing his potentials and mastering them. Don’t forget to keep encouraging him for everything he does also remember discouraging your child will be complete loss of his interest and potentials.
