Develop Your Child’s Potential

Your child is your biggest responsibility.  His/her brain has the absorbing power of a sponge and hence it can absorb as much as you feed it.  Knowing your child’s potential and developing it the just the right way is of utmost importance.  Some parenting tips can help you develop your child’s potential.

1. Know your child’s potential

To start working on your child’s development you must know what your child is potential of. In fact your child has amazing potentials, it is just that you have to recognize them and mould them the right way. Every human being is different and so is your child, he might have different abilities and interest. Encouraging his interests will make learning fun for him.

2. Encourage maximum interest

Encouragement is very important for every human being. Your child’s heart is very tender and he/she would love encouragement and appreciations for every good thing he does. Encourage him/her in her interests to develop his potential. For example if your child loves reading buy him/her books, ask him/her if they need any specific book to read. Get him/her a library registration, go along with her/him to the library and help her/him select interesting books and topics to read.

3. Never discourage him

Your child is small, he learning and is suppose to make mistakes. Do not let your child down on anything if his mistakes. Also don’t let your child down in front of people. Constantly letting your child down or discouraging will thrash your child’s confidence. He will lose interest in things he likes and is potential of being good in. In fact even if your child ends up making mistakes encourage him and tell him that he can do better next time. One positive word from you will give him encouragement for working harder.

4. Appreciation

Appreciation is a very important gesture. Since a baby a child looks at his parents to get a look or a word of appreciation. One word of appreciation encourages him to work very hard and prove his potentials. Remember appreciation by parents is very important it can work wonders for your growing child.

5. Make learning interesting for your child

As a baby or a toddler everything is new for your child and hence everything is very interesting. As time passes learning gets boring and monotonous. To encourage learning you must make it interesting. Use colorful books, knowledgeable and analytical toys, colors, pictures, music and songs to make learning interesting.

Every child has great potentials, however it is very important to recognize these potential to develop them. Know your child’s potential his interest and then encourage him to work towards developing his potentials and mastering them. Don’t forget to keep encouraging him for everything he does also remember discouraging your child will be complete loss of his interest and potentials. If learning gets boring in later stages of growing up, find out ways to make it interesting.

Another Family Swimming: The Water and Little Zoie

Little Zoie loves water.  It is one characteristics that she got from me and hubby.  Hubby is a great swimmer, unlike me. ;-)

Last weekend my side of the family planned a family outing, it was supposed to be a night swimming on Saturday night for some reason we have too many bumps along the trip.  We never experienced trouble going on a family outing before but maybe that time is an exemption.  Anyway, I’m here at Little Zoie’s blog so I’ll be posting more of my daughter than filling up this post with my personal rant. ;-p

Like what I’ve said, Little Zoie loves water, and even though she’s just 4 she always tag along in pools that is way beyond her height.  But this Sunday (we settled in the resort midnight of Sunday so kids only got to swim early in the morning after their rest), the resort is just filling up the big pool so the water is not that deep for kids.

See Little Zoie enjoys herself in the water. ;-)

She just woke up here.  Rather I woke her up.  The 8am will be too much for them so I made her took a dip at 6am. ^_^

Good thing, we bought her floaters.  She get to play in the water a little far from me.  Of course, I’m watching nearby.

As soon the sun starts heat up and hurt the skin.  I decided to finish up Little Zoie’s swim for the day.  Of course, she objected, but I promised her we’ll get to come back to any of Laguna’s resort on hubby’s VL this week, and I’ll definitely let her play in the water the whole day. ;-)

How’s your summer so far?
